Zerlina Vulliamy founded Oxford Contemporary Opera in 2019 and is an aspiring opera director. She directed the UK premiere of Marilyn Forever by Gavin Bryars in 2019 and is set to revive this in 2024.

She has also written operas, including Susanna, which was part of a Contemporary Opera Festival Zerlina devised.

She is currently writing and directing more projects set to premiere in 2024, as well as working as an Assistant Director.

Outside of theatre, Zerlina works in television as an Assistant Producer. From 2022-2023 she was one of the highly competitive cohort on the ‘Assistant Producer Accelerator Programme’ with BBC Studios.

During the pandemic, Zerlina interviewed a host of experts in the opera field including Sir Antonio Pappano and Peter Sellars.
